1. Reset printing settings on Mac:

Resetting the printer fixes all the minor glitches present in the system, and it is the universal method yet. One of the noticeable reasons for the Canon printer offline mac is because of false printing settings. Use the below instructions to reset the printing settings on Mac.


  • First, go to the “Apple” menu. 

  • And then from the drop-down list, click on the option “system preferences.”

  • After this, tap on the option “printer and scanner.”

  • And then a pop-up window will appear, click on it and select  ‘reset printing system.’

  • Now fill in your username and password, and click “ok.”

  • After this, click on plus(+) icon, in order to add your printer.

  • And your printer will come online.

2. Power cycle the Canon printer:

  • Firstly, restart your printer and from the Windows search bar open the run box.

  • Then,  select ‘Device and Printers’ from the control panel.

  • Next, the installed Canon printer will be shown on the screen.

  • If you see your printer with a green check mark, then right-click on the printer icon and select the option “See what’s printing.”

  • And if you see your printer in grey color, then click on it and select the ‘Set as default printer’ option. 

  • At last, tap on the printer option, and from there if you see two tick signs on the option of ‘use Canon printer offline’ or ‘Pause Printing’, untick them to bring the printer back online from offline mode.
